Hi There!
I’m Courtné Rausaw — the heart, soul, and camera behind Courtné Rausaw Photography (you might’ve known me before as Rausaw Inspired Photography!). I specialize in capturing portraits, families, weddings, and small businesses doing big things — all right here in beautiful Southwest Florida.
My love for photography is rooted in something super close to my heart: family. I’m lucky to have an incredible husband (my best friend of nearly 20 years!) and two amazing kiddos who light up my world. They are my biggest cheerleaders and my constant inspiration. Whether I’m photographing my own little crew or yours, I believe in freezing those sweet, silly, fleeting moments that make life so beautiful.
Because let’s be real — life flies by. One minute your toddler is learning to walk, and the next they’re taller than you. (Trust me, I’m living it!) I’m here to help you hold on to those memories with joy, authenticity, and maybe a little bit of sandy toes or wind-blown hair.
So let’s make some magic together! Your story is already beautiful — let’s tell it in photos.

After you book,
You've booked your session—woohoo! Now what? Whether it's your first photo shoot or you're back for another round of memory-making, this guide will help you feel confident, look your best, and have a ton of fun along the way.
Pick the Perfect Location
The vibe of your session starts with the setting! Whether you're dreaming of a natural outdoor space, a cozy park, a scenic overlook, or something more urban and funky, the location plays a huge role in the look and feel of your images.
Need help deciding? I’m here with ideas and guidance to match your family’s style. Together, we’ll find a spot that fits your vision beautifully.
What to Wear
Let’s talk outfits! This is one of the most common questions I get—and with good reason. Clothing choices really do affect the overall feel of your photos. Here’s what works best:
Coordinate, don’t have to be twins – Soft blues, neutrals, earthy tones, or rich jewel shades all photograph beautifully.
Dress for comfort and confidence – Whether casual or a bit more dressed up, wear something that makes you feel good!
Add texture and layers – Think flowy dresses, knit cardigans, rolled sleeves, accessories... they bring depth to your look.
Avoid busy logos or graphics – These can distract from your beautiful faces.
Bonus Tip: Don’t wear your photo outfit beforehand. Keep it fresh and clean for the shoot!
Not sure where to start? I’m always happy to offer styling help or even hop on a quick call to plan it all out.
Practice Makes Playful
Don’t worry—I’ll guide you through all the poses! But practicing a little in the mirror or in photos with your family can help you feel more relaxed in front of the camera.
Know your favorite angles or “sides”? Tell me!
Walk, twirl, laugh, snuggle—just be YOU.
The best photos often come when you're just being yourselves.
Bring a Prop (If You’d Like!)
Props can add personality and fun to your session. Whether it’s a picnic blanket, a favorite toy, balloons, or something sentimental, a meaningful prop brings your story to life.
You don’t need one—but if you have an idea, let’s chat about how to incorporate it in a way that feels natural and fun!
Arrive a Little Early
Planning to be just a bit early (10–15 minutes) helps everything run smoothly. It gives us time to get settled, shake off the nerves, and start relaxed and on a good note—especially important if we’re working with that dreamy golden light.
Running late = stress. Let’s skip that part.
All About the Kiddos
Kids make everything more fun—and unpredictable! Here are some quick tips for a smooth experience with little ones:
Try to schedule around nap times if possible.
Pack snacks, wipes, water, and a favorite comfort item.
Keep them comfortable and clean (bloomers for diaper-aged kiddos!).
We’ll start with posed shots early, then let the fun unfold.
Candid moments—giggles, hugs, sandy toes—are often the best.
Just relax and let them be little. We’ll make magic with whatever they give us!
Final Tips for a Smooth Session
Share your must-have shots with me before or at the start.
Want to splash in the water or get a little messy? We’ll save that for the end!
Glasses? Consider removing lenses to avoid glare.
Let go of “Cheese!”—natural smiles are way better.
Look at each other, laugh, play, move, connect. These are the moments we want to capture!
Most of All… Have Fun!
This session is about so much more than just taking photos—it’s about celebrating your family in this moment. So take a deep breath, love on each other, and enjoy the time together. I’ll be there to capture the beauty, the chaos, and everything in between.
Let’s create something you’ll treasure forever.
